1. They keep attributing the bus shelter campaign to me, but it is really a result of the TrainMeAZ coalition, a non-partisan, joint educational effort of the firearms training and Second Amendment community in Arizona. I’m the manager, but the sponsors deserve the thanks, without them, there would be no campaign. Look: http://www.trainmeaz.com/home/sponsors/ They deserve your support. Go to the link and email them, shop with them, thank them when you see them.

2. It’s a fine point, but the city’s ultimate argument was that the text on our ad was what they wanted to censor, and this was their “reason” for censoring our headlines. The article doesn’t make this clear, though I did get across the point that they’re judging our contents, which is forbidden if the First Amendment means anything.

We ultimately won on a technicality and the really important issues were ducked by the court. That includes (among many others) the ACLU’s argument, with which I agree, about a public bus stop not being a public place, and the whole entanglement about using that in free-speech issues. Our 14th Amendment concerns didn’t even get addressed. Read the small print the city thinks we can’t say, on the TrainMeAZ home page http://www.trainmeaz.com. It’s wonderful.
