Let’s start off saying Steve Smith has a rare distinction being the youngest Senator in what was LD23, and being the first Republican in 100 years in that District.
Former Senator of Arizona in old LD 23, born just outside of Detroit, Michigan. Comes from a family of teachers, small business owners, medical professionals, and brave members of US military dating back to WW II.
Steve is married with 3 children living in City of Maricopa and is a devout Christian. Steve stands for GOD, FAMILY, AND COUNTRY. The way it should be. He is a strong Constitutional Conservative which we need more of in this Legislature and in this Country.
He ran for Senate in 2010 deciding the liberals had that seat long enough (30 yrs) and felt it was time he and the majority of the people in the district started having their beliefs and principles properly represented. He won that seat and in 2012 ran for House Representative in what changed from District 23 to District 11.
As Senator, he was assigned to five of the most powerful committees in the Senate. He was named Chairman on one of those committees and Vice-Chairman on another. He supported and helped lead the effort in the Jobs Bill. Moved Arizona from almost last in the country in job creation to #4.
Steve has a 100% voting record in favor of Pro-life and pro-2nd Amendment rights. Steve has never missed a day, a committee, or a vote in the Senate. Steve is one of the most committed individuals we have in the Senate in 2010, and now in the House.
Steve is currently a Director of a Phoenix based talent agency in addition to leading Arizona in the right direction. He is committed to restoring economic development in Arizona, improving education, and fighting illegal immigration. We are very proud to have Steve Smith as our speaker here on Wednesday September 11, 2013. Yes, September 11 is a very important day in our history right now. I think it very apropos of Steve to be speaking on that special date.
I will also make a very special apology for Steve for the July 31 meeting we originally had Steve to speak at. We apparently had a miscommunication happen which occasionally happens. Steve extends his sincere apology and so do I to all Grassroots Tea Party Activists here in Glendale for the miscommunication that evening. We are both on the same page now and it should be an eventful evening of Q & A with Rep. Steve Smith. He is a very powerful and passionate speaker if you’ve ever heard him speak before. He spoke at the gun rally’s down at the Capital over the past few months. He stands on what he believes in and believes strongly in our US Constitution and Bill of Rights.
