We are extremely honored to have as our Guest Speaker this Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 Re-Elected Maricopa County Attorney William ‘Bill’ Montgomery. He is always enjoyable, informational, and interesting to listen to and ask questions of.
Bill was originally elected in a special election in 2012 and won on his pledge to fight crime, honor victims’ rights, protect and strengthen our community.
He is a West Point Graduate, decorated Gulf War Veteran, former Deputy County Attorney and a professional prosecutor dedicating his personal and professional life to serving others.
As County Attorney Bill stayed strong in his committment to prosecuting crimes and holding criminals accountable. He believes in Arizona’s tough sentencing laws in order to ensure violent and repeat criminals are kept away from our fellow citizens and communities. In this endeavor he partners with law enforcement, business and civic leaders in an effort to protect
and strengthen communities, and is an outspoken advocate for holding criminals who harm our children accountable.
Bill continues to fight the hard fight on fraud and identity theft through the specialized Fraud and Identity Theft Enforcement bureau under the County Attorney’s Office. He believes strongly in having legislation designed to protect victims of crime and going after those who abuse children.
If you remember last time Bill spoke of how he brought his Office the distinction of d
veloping a Zero Based Budget, a hard task in these times.
Now with the the election of Donald J Trump as our newly elected President of these United States, Bill feels even more inspired in keeping law and order especially in the realm of the Marijuana laws and possible confusion surrounding them between recreational and me
ical.
With the election behind us now, Bill will share perspectives on the recent election and criminal justices issues for Arizona. He just did a press conference on the new marijuana laws that passed in 4 states. Out of 5 states, Arizona was the only state that defeated it by a small margin. With Trump putting in good people who are for law and order, this may do some major changes in the drug laws these states just passed. Will make for a very interesting evening.
Please join us in welcoming Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery this Wednesday at the Denny’s Restaurant Banquet Room, 2717 W Bell Rd. Phx, Arizona. Doors open 6 pm; meeting starts 6:30 pm.
See ya there
