KELLI WARD
CANDIDATE FOR US SENATE
Kelli is a wife, mom, doctor, and former Arizona Senator — Quite a lot of accomplishments to be proud of. She originally is West Virginia, a graduate of Duke University, and a graduate of West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Kelli is married to Michael Ward, who currently serves i the National Guard. They decided to move to Arizona to have a family and build their businesses.
In 2012, Kelli entered politics in 2012 as a candidate for Arizona State Senate which she won and ran again in 2014 unopposed. She continued practicing medicine in the emergency department in Lake Havasu City and Kingman, Arizona.
In 2015 Kelli was considered to be the most conservative member of the Arizona State Senate, so she announced her candidacy for the United States Senate against 34-year incumbent John McCain in the Republican primary in the 2016 election. Kelli was outspent 10 to 1, yet she held McCain to his lowest historical primary total ever at 51%.
October 2016 – Kelli announces she is challenging Republican Senator Jeff Flake, one of McCain’s co-horts in the US Senate and one of President Trump’s biggest foes, in the 2017 primary election.
