This Wednesday we have the pleasure of having Kim Fisher of the Deer Valley School District, currently running for School Superintendent of Schools.
Kim has decided to drop out of the race and support Tom Horne Candidate for School Superintendent. She will be promoting Tom when she speaks this Wednesday.
Kim has a Bachelor in Management specializing in Human Resources, a Master’s of Accounting and Financial Management, and has worked in education since 2011. Formally a corporate trust accountant she currently works as an Operations Manager in the finance department for a public school district and is at the start of her fourth year as a Governing Board Member at DVUSD
Kim has been a parent being the parent of three children n the DVUSD for the past 18 years. During that time has seen many changes in her district and Arizona and in the education system. She took a sabbatical to establish a habilitation program for their special needs child returning to the workforce in 2006.
In February of this year Kim took a position as a Corporate Trust Accountant. Previoiusly worked with various government entities including two years with a school district. In those she became well versed in Arizona Revised Statutes, school finance, procurement, public records/retention, and other regulations that directly apply to the running of a school district.
Kim is an-large member of the DVUSD Governing Board as of January 2021 with her term ending January 2025. She won the election for this on November 3, 2020.
