We are very proud to present as our Featured Speaker Maricopa County Attorney William ‘Bill’ Montgomery this Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at the Denny’s Restaurant Banquet Room, 2717 W Bell Rd, Phx, Az.
2010 Bill Montgomery was elected in a Special Election as our County Attorney. He was then re-elected in 2012 on a pledge to fight crime, honor victims’ rights, protect and strengthen our community.
Bill is a West Point Graduate, decorated Gulf War Veteran, former Deputy County Attorney and a professional prosecutor dedicating his personal and professional life to serving others.
As County Attorney, Bill has committed to prosecuting crimes and holding criminals accountable. He believes in Arizona’s tough sentencing laws in order to ensure violent and repeat criminals are kept away from our fellow citizens and communities. Bill also partners with law enforcement, business and civic leaders in an effort to protect and strengthen communities, and is an outspoken advocate for holding criminals who harm our children accountable.
Bill is equally strong on fighting fraud and identity theft through the specialized Fraud and Identity Theft Enforcement bureau under the County Attorney’s Office. He believes strongly in having legislation designed to protect victims of crime and going after those who abuse children.
Bill Montgomery has brought his Office the distinction of developing a Zero Based Budget. He will be discussing how he accomplished this.
Another one of Bill’s passions is the Marijauna Laws – to pass or not to pass. The conflict appears to come from the fact that it is a Federal Law and Arizona and other states are in conflict with the Federal Marijuana Laws in passing what is being referred to as ‘Medical Marijuana.’ This will also be discussed at our meeting as well as any other issues under the jurisdiction of the County Attorney’s Office.
Bill currently resides in Gilbert, Arizona with his wife and their children.
We look forward to seeing you all there Wednesday, Aug 19, 2015. Doors open at 6 pm in order to place a food order should one so desire, and the meeting will begin at 6:30 with speaker starting around 6:45-7 pm. There will be Q & A time as well.
